MyTriCoach - Training and coaching philosophyCoaching Philosophy My goal is like your goal, for you to become the best that you can and achieve what you set out to do. Whilst most athletes can read a book and put together some sort of training programme from that, I find that is all they will then follow and usually end up stagnating and making very little progress or none at all. Some athletes will get coaches who have lived the life of a professional athlete or have coached professional athletes. Whilst this is fine for the ones amongst who have no family or work commitments this is not the case with the majority of people. Coaches who practice like this can then be very overwhelming with the amount and frequency of training and this combined with family or work commitments can have a negative effect on training rather than a positive one. I aim to help you get the best out of yourself with my training programmes, experience, education and personal guidance. I do believe that should you wish to get a coach, that you should get your moneys' worth and have the commitment you need to make the relationship with your coach and their training programmes a fruitful one. Whilst I have the experience and knowledge to help people improve their athletic abilities, it still takes 100% dedication from that athlete to make the difference. Whilst training is a major part of success at triathlon the same can be said for recovery and nutrition. Most athletes who get the racing bug tend to get carried away and end up leaving or in the over training zone. My programmes are based around these points that I feel are significant to a progressive coaching relationship. Access to me and the knowledge and experience I have gained both academically and through training and racing. I can also assist with some of the biomechanics of swimming, bike set-up and running. I can also advise on recovery techniques and injury prevention exercises. I also have working relationships with chartered physiotherapists and sports injury specialists. I am a very approachable coach and don't hide behind my web site or email. Telephone calls to me to discuss the week's programme or ask general triathlon or training advice are in my opinion par for the course of coaching. A weekly programme that is tailored to exact requirements and your commitments in life. Delivered to you prior to your next week to give you the time to assess, to ask questions and if need be to alter to fit in with your week. I also endeavour to be have fluid programmes that can be adapt to fit in to changes in the athletes weekly commitments. What I require from you As I have already stated to get the best out of our relationship you will need to be 100% committed and just as importantly 100% honest with me. If you feeling unwell, tired or unmotivated then it is important that I know and the we can make adjustments within your programme. Unfortunately I cannot make or give any money back guarantees. |
